JEAN MARCHAND, P.Eng.
President
Jean Marchand, P.Eng. is a senior engineer and co-founding president of Groupe-conseil Structura international. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (with a specialization in public works) from École Polytechnique de Montréal. He has extensive experience in the design, inspection, assessment and monitoring of bridges and building structures.
For over 30 years, he has managed major infrastructure projects for prestigious clients such as the Ministère des Transports du Québec, the Ville de Montréal, Transport Canada, Hydro-Québec and JacquesCartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated. His achievements include projects on the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the Champlain Bridge, the Bonaventure expressway, highways 15 and 40, and the Place des Arts.
Mr. Marchand has made significant contributions to the enhancement of Structura’s engineering services in this field. As a company president who believes in ethical and uncompromising work, he has forged new partnerships with transportation infrastructure clients, contractors and suppliers. With a strong focus on customer service, he has helped build a team of experienced engineering professionals who have delivered some of the most exciting projects in Quebec, the Caribbean and Africa.
ETIENNE L. MICHAUD, P.Eng., PMP
Director of Operations
Étienne L. Michaud, P.Eng., PMP is a founding partner and Director of Operations at Structura since 2011. He oversees the implementation of Structura’s projects and actively participates in business development. He holds a civil engineering degree from École Polytechnique de Montréal since 2007.
Recognized for his expertise in both design and inspection, Mr. Michaud efficiently manages all phases of projects, whether for inspection, assessment of load-carrying capacity or design mandates of bridges. His vast experience in managing structural engineering projects, both in Quebec and abroad, has allowed him to manage successfully the teams responsible for carrying out Structura’s international mandates.
Mr. Michaud is an experienced inspector with a Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) Level II certification. He has led inspection teams on major structures such as the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the Champlain Bridge, the Concorde Bridge, the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine bridge-tunnel, sections of the Metropolitan Autoroute, the Montréal West and Saint-Pierre interchanges, and many other bridges across Quebec. Since 2012, he has supervised Structura’s underwater inspection projects and has developed methods specific to the challenges of these mandates.
Mr. Michaud also manages Structura’s highly complex technical and logistical mandates through his deep understanding of bridge pathologies throughout their life cycle.
ADAM KORZEKWA, P.Eng., M.A.Sc.
Director of Engineering
Adam Korzekwa, P.Eng., M.A.Sc. is a founding partner and Director of Engineering at Structura. He graduated from École Polytechnique de Montréal in 2006 with a degree in civil engineering and completed a master’s degree in structural seismic behaviour in 2009. A recipient of fellowships from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) as well as the G.J. Jackson Fellowship, he began his career at the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC-ICCA). There, he has worked on the production of the 10th edition of the Handbook of Steel Construction and the bridge design course.
Mr. Korzekwa has led the firm’s engineering activities since 2011. He is a key player in inspection, assessment and design projects, and specializes in advanced analysis and resolution of complex structural problems. He has also been actively involved in inspection and consulting projects on major structures such as the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the Champlain Bridge and the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls.
His extensive experience in the repair and design of steel and reinforced concrete structures has led many of his projects to be among the finalists or winners of excellence awards. Mr. Korzekwa’s designs enhance Montreal parks, extend the life of critical structures in Quebec or ensure the safety of civil protection structures in Haiti.
Mr. Korzekwa values individual growth and devotes a significant amount of his time to knowledge sharing, as well as the professional and technical development of the Structura team.
